The Department of Experimental Medicine II (Tumor Research)

Our group analyses molecular mechanisms that control tumor development and progression. We are particularly interested in the regulation of the oncogenic  wnt signal transduction pathway and in the role of cadherin cell adhesion molecules in epithelial differentiation and metastasis. We also analyse mechanisms of metastasis formation on the level of the tumor cell – endothelial cell interaction  and have established DNA microarray technology for large scale gene expression analysis of tumor tissues.
